Coroner: Martin Short's Wife Died of Natural Causes

Martin Short's wife died relatively young – at only 58 – but her death was from natural causes, a coroner official confirms.

"[Nancy Dolman] was under the care of a private physician for a natural disease," L.A. County Coroner Chief Craig Harvey tells PEOPLE. "There will be no coroner involvement."

Dolman had been battling cancer, according to a 2007 tabloid report, but a publicist for the actor declined to comment on the cause of death.

The actor's wife passed away Saturday after a 911 call was made from Short's L.A. home.

Dolman and Short, who were married 30 years, had three children: Katherine, 26; Oliver, 24; and Henry, 21.

HK families torn after Philippines hostage siege

A Hong Kong woman who survived a siege on a Manila bus tells how her husband is the only shooter will be charged, only to be slain. Another teenage survivor said she cowered in her life during the ordeal.

The two were among 15 tourists still aboard the bus Philippine commandos what police now acknowledge was a failed rescue.

"I can not bear this reality," said the middle-aged woman, identified as Ms Leung, half-choking on her grief as she spoke to the Hong Kong Cable Television. "I wanted my husband to embrace and die with him. But then I thought of my children."

Ms Leung also lost her two daughters in the gunfire - Jessie, 14, filmed the bus peeking through curtains, and Doris, 21, already studying in Canada.

The only surviving member of her family, her teenage son, Jason, was in intensive care after brain surgery.

There were seven families in the 21-member group tours, including a guide, local media reported. They were on a four-day package tour to the Philippines - a popular holiday destination in Southeast Asia.

Flags were flown at half mast in Hong Kong, a former British colony which returned to Chinese rule in 1997, and the authorities a travel warning to the Philippines.

Many Hong Kong residents, including leader Donald Tsang of the city, criticized the slow and seemingly chaotic way the commandos attempted to storm the tour bus when the hostage taker, a disgruntled ex-policeman, was baking inside.

"Why did they not help us ... but rather the Philippines government?" muttered Ms. Leung, a blank look in her eyes.

Several small protests were held outside Hong Kong Philippines Consulate.

Other survivors spoke of harrowing scenes in the bus and commands the militia fought for over an hour before he was shot in the head slain.

"I hid under a chair," Tracy Wong, 15, told reporters from her hospital bed, her voice barely audible. "The police pepper sprayed and it was difficult for us inside."

She later learned that both her parents were slain.

A Buddhist monks in orange robes with a ceremony held at the massacre site on Tuesday, attended by relatives of victims and some survivors.

"I'm more at peace of heart," said one middle-aged hostage escaped harm. "We are Christians and God helped us a lot."

Hong Kong authorities said they were the bodies of the victims asked to be flown home by Wednesday.

Japan May Consider Unilateral Yen-Selling: Report

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Japanese Ministry of Finance may unilaterally yen-selling intervention and market speculators driving the currency of view, Nikkei Business Daily reported Tuesday.

The yen rose to a 15-year high against the dollar and a peak of nine years against the euro on Tuesday for fear of the global economy has slowed, testing the Japanese authorities to solve the currency to climb stalk.

Nikkei also said in its morning edition that 08.25 the Bank of Japan's monetary policy further measures to be considered separately. Depending on market conditions the board may decide the policy to take action earlier to convene an extraordinary meeting, according to the report.

"Going the quantitative easing route seems to be the desired policy to move the Japanese authorities should they decide to act," said Brian Dolan, chief strategist at Forex.com in Bedminster, New Jersey.

"The U.S. returns were they all simple intervention will do is give better levels of speculators buying the yen."

The Nikkei report warned that the consequences of unilateral intervention may be muted given that other major economies are not expected to join the move.

Chinese state TV says 42 killed in plane crash

BEIJING - Chinese state television said 42 people died when a passenger plane crossed a runway in northeastern China on Tuesday and burst into flames. It says 47 others were rescued and taken to the hospital.

The official Xinhua News Agency said the Henan Airlines plane with 91 passengers and crew crashed in the province of Heilongjiang Yichun city.

China Central Television quoted Bangnan Sun, Deputy Director of Public Safety Heilonjiang Department, as saying that 42 bodies had been recovered and that 49 people were rescued.

(AP) - A Chinese passenger plane crossed a runway in the northeast of the country and burst into flames Tuesday, but state television said 49 of the 91 people aboard were rescued. The fate of the other passengers is unclear.

The Henan Airlines plane crashed in the province of Heilongjiang Yichun city, the official Xinhua News Agency said. Xinhua said more than 20 people were hospitalized.

China Central Television quoted Bangnan Sun, Deputy Director of Public Safety Heilonjiang Department, as saying that 49 people were rescued and the fire was extinguished.

Xuemei Wang, vice-mayor of Yichun, CCTV reported that three of the 49 were in hospital in critical condition, but gave no details.

The plane had taken off from the capital of Heilongjiang Harbin shortly before 9 pm (1300 GMT) and crashed during landing at the airport Lindu a little over an hour later.

An official nickname Qi Yichun the No. 1 People's Hospital said 30 people had been brought there for treatment, with most suffering broken bones.

A man only his last name to give Wang, Yichun the Rehabilitation Hospital, which burn specialists to the site, said 10 survivors were transferred to burns.

Eight survivors were on the Yichun Forest Hospital, said a duty officer nicknamed Zhou. He said he was not the nature of their injuries to get to know.

Henan Airlines is based in the central Chinese province of the same name and flies smaller regional jets, especially on routes in the north and northeast China. Formerly known as Kunpeng Airlines, the carrier relaunched Henan Airlines earlier this year.

Henan Airlines and many other regional Chinese airlines fly shorter routes have fought in recent years, lost the high-speed passenger rail lines that China has aggressively expanded.

An American company, Phoenix-based Mesa Air Group Inc., is an original investor in the company of Henan predecessor, Kunpeng, but sold its stake last year. Mesa operates regional services in the U.S. by Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and other airlines and is undergoing bankruptcy reorganization.

Full Tilt expansion of the Chinese aviation market in the 1990s led to a series of crashes that gave China the reputation of insecurity. The poor state of the government called for a drastic increase in the security of new systems for airlines to manage air traffic at airports.

The last major passenger plane crash in China in November 2004 when a plane crashed China Eastern soon in a lake in northern China, killing all 53 on board and two on the ground.

MD-11 cargo plane operated by Zimbabwe, on the basis of Avient Aviation crashed during takeoff from the main airport in Shanghai last November. Three American crew members died and four others were injured on board.

Tropical Storm Danielle 2010 Strengthening In Atlantic

Newly-formed Tropical Storm Danielle will likely reach hurricane status in the next 24 hours, according to an advisory from the U.S. National Hurricane Center this morning.

Hurricane Danielle is expected to move west-northwest toward Bermuda from its position in the Central Atlantic, Reuters reports.

Experts have predicted that up to seven major Atlantic hurricanes could form this season.

So far, Hurricane Alex has been the only Atlantic Hurricane this season. It reached Category 2 strength.

Brenda Barnes, CEO of Sara Lee, Steps Down After Stroke

Brenda Barnes, the chief executive officer of food giant Sara Lee Corporation, said on Monday that she is stepping down as CEO and chairwoman of the company.

Barnes, 56, said that she needs to focus on recuperating after she suffered from a stroke, which prompted her to take medical leave on May 14.

In a statement, the company's board of directors said that they have begun searching for a new CEO and chairperson, and considering both internal and external candidates.

Barnes became CEO in 2005 and embarked on a restructuring of the company, which is the maker of Ball Park Franks, Jimmy Dean sausage products, and Rainbo Bread as well as Sara Lee's own baked goods products.

Marcel Smits will take over her position, serving as interim CEO. James S. Crown, who serves as an independent director, stepped in as chairman of the board when she took medical leave and will remain so in the interim.

“We fully support Brenda's decision to step down as chairman and CEO so she can devote all of her time and energy toward improving her health," Crown said. "We will conduct a thorough process to identify a CEO successor in a timely manner, and look forward to sustaining the momentum begun under Brenda's leadership."

Barnes also resigned from Sara Lee's board of directors and will not be eligible for reelection.

Bloomberg wire service reported that during the past six quarters, Sara Lee's sales have either dropped or idled, something Barnes' successor will have to deal with in the wake of her absence.

Erin Swanson, an analyst with Morningstar, told ABC that Sara Lee will not experience a major strategic overhaul in the near future.

“We don't anticipate a change in Sara Lee's strategic direction over the near term," Swanson told the network. "In terms of who they appoint to lead Sara Lee, I think it's too early to tell."

Note to homewreckers: If you are going to have an affair with someone's husband, check your state's legal codes first. In some states, including North Carolina, adulteresses can be sued for having an affair with a married man. Fantasia Barrino, I mean you!

Fantasia Barrino is a singer and actress who won American Idol in 2004. She played the lead role of Celie in Oprah Winfrey's stage production of The Color Purple, which was recently on tour around the country. She's been nominated for a Grammy eight times, and her latest album, Back to Me, hits stores August 24.

But her most recent role is that of the real life "other woman" in a tawdry love triangle, complete with juicy sex tapes.

The tapes have not been released to the public or even leaked on YouTube (yet), but are mentioned in a lawsuit brought by Paula Cook, wife of Antwuan Cook, the man having the affair with Barrino. He's tall and buff and handsome, so you can understand the 26-year-old Barrino's attraction. What I can't understand is her stupidity ... or her morality or her irresponsibility ... but let's start with the stupid part.

By carrying on with a married man, a father of two small children, and providing concrete evidence by producing sex tapes, she could be sued for millions. So far, Paula Cook is only suing her husband for custody of their two children, ages 6 and 2, child support, and their house. Legal experts say this is the logical first step and that a lawsuit against Barrino is likely to follow.

Which is why she should be trying to get on Paula Cook's good side, helping to make the breakup as easy as possible for the couple and the two children, perhaps even putting things on hold until he can get a divorce, and not interrupting phone conversations between her lover and his wife with vitriol like:

"He don't want you. Maybe the next time you get a husband you'll know how to keep him. That's why he is here with me."

I don't know about you, but this comment would not only cause me NOT to buy her new album, but it would have me running to my lawyer's office faster than you can say Toni Morrison.

Andy Kaufman Lives On After Death.

Andy Kaufman still lives on even after his death in 1984.

Kaufman, born in 1949 was a well-known actor and performance artist. While many people referred to him as a comedian, Kaufman did not believe that’s what he was.

Andy Kaufman had quite a successful career going on at an early age. He starred in the skits “Foreign Man” and “Mighty Mouse” while in New York. These two performances were ultimately aired on the first season of Saturday Night Live.

While his career was still flourishing, tragedy struck the young actor. At the young age of 35, Andy Kaufman was diagnosed with lung cancer and died the same year.

Fans of Kaufman around the world believe that his death back in 1984 was all a hoax. They believe that much like Tupac Shakur (2pac) and Elvis, Kaufman is still alive to this very day. Of course these people are delusional and need to face the reality that they are all in fact dead and did not fake their deaths.

In honor of Kaufman, the New York Comedy Festival hands out the Andy Kaufman Award to the best Comedian.
